Whether you’re craving the comfort food of a family-owned, family-friendly restaurant, an enchanting meal with a waterfront view, or a friendly place to get your morning scone and cup of coffee, there’s no shortage of choices for dining in Sister Bay. 

Many a visitor has referred to Sister Bay as “the” place to go for dining, and with this many varied choices, it’s easy to see why.  If it’s a fine dining experience that you’re after, many of the village’s award-winning fine dining restaurants have been featured in magazines such as Good Housekeeping, Midwest Living, Gourmet, and Bon Appetit, as well as on The Food Network channel.  With a list of over 500 carefully selected wines, scotches, and signature martinis, One Sister Bay dining establishment is a nine-time Wine Spectator Award winner and is one of only five restaurants in Wisconsin to receive the “Best Award of Excellence Award” from Wine Spectator Magazine.  Another Sister Bay restaurant was recently named one of the state’s best restaurants in a reader’s poll by Wisconsin newspapers, as well as previously being named the most romantic restaurant by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.  With waterfront views, outdoor seating, and private dining rooms for large groups or parties, Sister Bay’s gourmet establishments have every detail of your dining experience covered!

Sister Bay is very proud of its Scandinavian heritage – and that pride translates into many of the dishes served in our restaurants.  We have three full-service restaurants that serve authentic Scandinavian dishes (with the portions to match!).  And of course, talking about Sister Bay eateries would not be complete without mentioning “the icons” – our many restaurants that have been family-owned and operated for many years.  With plenty of hard work (not to mention great food!), there a few dining establishments that have been part of the Sister Bay lifestyle for 50 years – or more!  These restaurants have grown to become part of Sister Bay’s modern heritage – and by number of families that keep returning to Sister Bay year after year, it looks like these places will be part of our village for another fifty years.

However, dining in Sister Bay is much more than an expertly grilled steak, a tasty Friday night fish-fry, or that perfect bottle of wine to accompany your meal.  In our village that encompasses three square miles, we have homemade ice-cream, the perfect latte or mocha to begin your morning, tasty burgers, homemade soups, whitefish and other varieties of fish caught by our own local fishermen daily, homemade pizzas, and of course, Door County cherry pie – all with accommodations for every group, budget, and palate.  With this many dining choices, Sister Bay provides a bit of a pleasant dilemma.  After all, how can you fit a two week’s worth of dining choices into a few days?  Might just have to come back and visit us again!
