| Sister Bay – The Festival Village! With six festivals spanning throughout the year (the most festivals in any Door County village or town!), there’s something worth celebrating year-round in the village of Sister Bay. Come enjoy the beauty and activity of our village and partake in one of these great celebrations: Blossom Festival – Saturday, May 10 Sister Bay’s first festival of the year heralds the beginning of spring and the “blossoming” of life in the Door Peninsula. A celebration for both the young and the “young-at-heart”, Blossom Festival features a traditional raising of the maypole, a children’s parade (with prizes for the best costume!), Norwegian dancers, and a bonfire with live entertainment. This spring event also features “Taste of Sister Bay”, in which the village’s dining establishments team up to offer a tasty, eclectic meal – for less than you’d pay in a restaurant! Concerts in the Park – Wednesdays at 3:00 pm, June 25 through August 27 Sister Bay’s Concerts in the Park are wonderful events, with local and regional talents performing at our beautiful Beach Park Pavillion. In case of rain, the Concerts will be moved indoors to the nearby Sister Bay Village Hall. June 25 Mr. Billy ~ Children’s Entertainer June 27 The Bittorf Brothers 7pm

Sister Bay Showcase – Thursday through Sunday, July 17 - 20 One of the Village’s newest festivals, the Sister Bay Showcase puts a focus on our many lodging establishments and our varied shopping destinations. Gift baskets filled with deals and specials at Sister Bay retail shops are handed out at participating Sister Bay lodging establishments, with a special “discount card” that can be used for the whole weekend! Door County Festival of the Arts – Saturday and Sunday, August 9 & 10 Located along the waters of Sister Bay and Ephraim in the heart of the Door Peninsula, the festival features Door County's finest artists demonstrating their skills, theatrical, literary and live musical performances, cultural tours, culinary delights and hands-on activities for all ages. Stroll along Sister Bay’s beautiful waterfront and explore all the different artistic avenues that are available! Admission to the Festival is free and open to the general public. Now in its ninth year, the Door County Festival of the Arts is a collaboration between the Francis Hardy Center for the Arts, the Sister Bay Advancement Association, the Village of Sister Bay, the Sister Bay Historical Society, and the Ephraim Historical Foundation. For more information visit www.doorcountyfestivalofthearts.com. Marina Fest – Saturday, August 30 This festival, traditionally held on the Saturday before Labor Day, was created to pay tribute to the Sister Bay Marina, which was rebuilt in 1993. The village had such a great response to the event the first year that they decided to make it an annual event! The festival includes all of the things that make outdoor festivals in Door County so great – live entertainment, food, and fireworks – but also features a water ski show by The Waterboard Warriors! Fall Fest – Friday through Sunday, October 17 – 19 The “Granddaddy” of all Door County festivals, 2009 will mark the 63rd annual Fall Fest in Sister Bay. What began as a celebration and reward for the Door County tourist workers after a busy tourist season has evolved into one of the largest weekend celebrations on the peninsula! A parade, arts & crafts fair, food booths, live entertainment, and children’s activities make this a “must-do” weekend, but the real fun lies in one of the Fest’s oldest traditions – the famed Ping-Pong Ball Drop. An astonishing 10,000 Ping-Pong balls are dropped from the sky on Sunday afternoon, with a one in ten chance of winning a prize from a participating Sister Bay business! Capture the Spirit – Friday & Saturday, November 28 & 29 What better way to prepare for the hustle and bustle of the holiday season than to spend your weekend in Sister Bay? The cozy little village lights up for the holidays with special decorations and trolley rides throughout downtown Sister Bay with a tree lighting, warming refreshments, live Christmas music from the local Gibraltar High School chorus, and an art fair in the Sister Bay Village Hall. Capture the Spirit continues through Saturdays in December with extended shopping hours in participating Sister Bay retail shops. |
